The Perfect Dress

On Saturday after Hula, me, my mom, sisters and Gunnar all went wedding dress shopping. My sister has been dress hunting for some time now so her style was becoming more specific. She knew what she liked and did not like. She knew that she liked lace and some sort of cream color. She liked the sash idea. That she liked sleeveless but not with a sweetheart neckline. So off all of us went to two wedding dress shops. At Margene's we found this gorgeous dress. Of course we could not take pictures so you won't be able to see what it looked like but it was really pretty. However the price tag was like $900 something and she really did not want to spend that much.

Off to Sweetheart Manor we go. She found a dress there before that she really liked so we really just stopped in to look at it again. Heidi and I went through the racks and pulled more for the heck of it. Some were a difinate no but the last dress that she tried on was the one that had been marked down. Might as well give it a shot. It was the one!! It had everything that she was looking for and more. It is gorgeous and perfect. Mindy is so vintage/retro in style hence the lace. This dress had the lace underneath the sheer layer instead of over the top like most other dresses. The lace has a darker and lighter brown flower print on it. There is enough sparkle on this thing to make it sexy (as my mom kept saying). The neckline was the way that she wanted it. The train was not too short or long. The color is perfect. She is going to look so great in this. The best part was that it originally was $1300 but was marked down days before for $399. The lady told us that she just needed to make room for more inventory and that one had to go. The ladies in the store were just so sad to see it go because it had become one of their favorites (they stated that they get attached to some dresses). It is a size 12 so it will definately have to be altered but still the price can not be beat. She put the dress on that she had previously found and it did not pale in comparison to this find. Mindy does plan on adding a sash to this dress which will look awesome. Ignore the clips. We had to use them to get the full look of the dress because it is much larger than she is.

Mindy is getting married September 1st, Labor Day. It will be a fantastic 3 day weekend for most. She will be getting married in Boise at the Linen Building, which is just awesome. It is so neat inside. It has a really vintage feel to it. She will have it catered by Kanak Attack, which is really yummy hawaiian food. He also catered Heidi's wedding and recently opened his own resturaunt in Boise. She is planning on having Heidi, his sister, and I as bridemaids and is trying to find cute vintage looking dresses that can also accomodate a pregnant person if needs be (you never know). We are so excited for her. She has been dating Dan for like 5 years. We have gotten to know him really well and really like him. We are all pretty excited.
