Preschool Picture Book

When Gunnar was in preschool last year, he would come home with tons of fun projects. He loved it there. The only problem is that there was no way I was going to keep all of that stuff. I slowly collected and kept it in a pile/bin until I decided to finally go through the clutter in early December and do something about it. I took pictures of all of his projects/art, edited the pictures and compiled them into a bound picture book through Inkubook. I kept the few pieces that I loved and tossed the rest without feeling guilty. I love this book. It is a fun reminder of what Gunnar did. I also added in pictures of his first day, preschool parties and graduation. This will be a really fun thing to show his kids someday.

Free Preschool Crafts

Somehow I ran across this blog and really thought that it was worth mentioning. With a preschooler myself, it is always nice to have a place to turn to with fun ideas. These are really fun ones too. Check it out here.

The Apple of My Eye

Gunnar has been learning about apples for the entire month of September. That is all that I heard about, that is mostly what he brought home as projects. He loved it! Last week we headed to the orchard to fulfill one of our wards assignments. Gunnar was loving it and I really enjoyed how it brought a concept that he was learning about in preschool full circle. Jeff was so good about letting Gunnar help him on a ladder. We were supposed to pick the good apples and pick/drop the ones that had worm holes in them. Gunnar became really good at distinguishing the two. He found it to be a really great game. He was so excited to have a full basket and then get to drop them in the huge bins. We had a really fun time and it always feels good to serve the Lord and do what we have been asked.

We have a Preschooler

My little sister did get married Monday. We are so incredibly happy for her and Dan. I hope to write about it and post pictures when the professional ones come in on a CD. The entire thing was so beautiful and really fun.

Today Gunnar officially started preschool. He is in a group of about 5 other little 2-3 year old. He appeared to love it. He told Jeff all about flattening playdoh and then pushing a twinkle star button in it. He goes for 1 1/2 hours two times per week. He is going to love it and most likely get so much from it. He has such a fantastic teacher, Hannah Hamilton. She is a school teacher gone stay at home mom with a Bachelor and Masters Degree. She is just great. You can check out her preschool blog here. We were given the assignment last week at an Open House to turn posterboard into a little Gunnar. This is what we came up with. I laid Gunnar down and traced him. His head was turned thus the crazy shaped head. I added fabric for a shirt (we later added buttons on it), blue felt eyes and a real glued car to his hand. Gunnar did his magic with markers and he looks perfect. Gunnar just loved this paper guy.
