My favorite time of year!

I just absolutely LOVE fall. I love everything about it. The colors, the leaves, the slightly colder weather, the pumpkins, and the trees. When we bought our house two and a half years ago, we knew that we had many well developed, large trees but we did not know the color that this particular tree would turn in the fall. Boy, was I thrilled to see that it is, hands down, the prettiest tree ever. It is the first to change color and loose its leaves in the neighborhood and I have yet to really notice another like it in the area. I still don't know what it is. The colors are just magnificent. It almost looks like the tree is glowing. The leaves can have two colors on one leaf. Also the perfect tree for fun leaf piles. I also love this little pink flowered plant called 'Autumn Joy' sedum. It is the prettiest fall perrenial. The flower heads get bigger and darker as fall progresses. Also the green tree in the picture is another of my favorites in my front yard. I am pretty sure that it is a Redbud that has to be about 60 years old (as old as the house). The sad part is that the trunk has split right down the middle almost to the ground. It is incredibly healthy so we are hoping to drill a hole and put a rod through the center of it to keep it together. We need to get to it before winter.

Gorgeous! I love fall! I'm so sad that we don't get it much here in AZ. One day its like 100 degrees and the next it gets super cold and all the leaves fall off. We rarely get to see changing colors. I have to say, that tree with the pink and purple leaves is freaking awesome ! I don't think I've ever seen one change to those colors. If you ever find out what kind it is, I'd love to know!
