The Greatest Show on EARTH!

My dad really wanted to take all of us to the circus, so off we went this last Thursday. It ended up being my dad, Gunnar, me, Brent (brother), Heidi (sister), and Ren (brother-in-law). We showed up about 45 or so minutes before the show started for the All Access Backstage thingy. Unfortunately by the time we figured out that you could go back to where all of the animals were kept, they had to shut it down for the show to begin. One of the first acts was the gorgeous white horses. It was absolutely the prettiest thing that I have seen. The horses were at liberty to go where they wanted but of course they are so highly trained that they easily listened to their trainer. One of the neatest things is that all of the music and sound effects were made right there from a band. Gunnar absolutely LOVED the main clown that did all of these funny little acts throughout the show. He would watch him so intently. I am glad that he liked him because clowns are not my thing...this clown was pretty funny though. And then of course towards the end, the elephant came out. It really was the neatest thing. It was so mystical with the lighting and smoke that accompanied the act. It was also so neat to see an elephant not in a zoo or on TV. Gunnar was fascinated with it and kept watching it and yelling at it. This kid had SO MUCH sugar. We had the cotton candy that came with the clown hat, small donuts, and a lemonade slushy type drink. Grandpa spoiled him rotten!

Gunnar clapped and danced with the music when it came on (which was all the time). It probably helped that there were hundreds of kids there as well screaming and dancing too.

During intermission, Gunnar took his souvenier booklet and started to "Ooooooh!" At it. What he was looking at was an ad for the Elephant Conservation on the back.

A picture of the very cool elephant. It had tons of glitter all over its back and then they would shine these stars on it as well. Absolutely amazing what these incredibly large animals can do. (We also think that the animal trainer was pregnant-wouldn't you say so?)

If the Ringling Bro. & Barnum and Bailey Circus ever comes to a city near you, you should jump to the chance to go because it is a lot of fun and this circus does not come around that often.

I tried and tried to get a picture of the elephant for Bailey, but all of mine were fuzzy because of how dark it was in there! She loved the circus too. It looks like the same people that were here in our town.

So this one makes me SO jealous !I have always wanted to go to the circus, but never had the chance. This makes me want to go even more! And the look on Gunnar's face in that picture is absolutely priceless! It's so hard to find something that kids will just absolutely love, so to see it in his face is awesome! I will definitely have to find out when it is going to come to Phoenix! maybe we can go and take our kids!
